SUMMARY: The Director of Procurement will organize, direct, manage, evaluate, and is responsible for the Procurement Department incorporating the strategy of Florida Tile. This position will identify new vendors and oversee negotiation with existing vendors for the purchase of materials, supplies, equipment and services. This position will also work directly with executive leadership to develop and execute Florida Tile’s strategy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develops both short and long-term strategic plans and implements actions to achieve positive customer results as they relate to sourcing and purchasing.
Develops and implements pricing and profit margin initiatives in order to achieve annual financial objectives.
Manages, mentors and develops team to increase productivity and job satisfaction and strengthen growth within Company.
Continually searches for strategic sourced-suppliers to supplement sales and complement manufacturing core competencies.
Develops relationships with vendors both domestic and international, to provide best quality, lowest cost, high service and marketing support.
Facilitates problem resolution related to product quality and supply chain issues by establishing processes and metrics measuring performance.
Manages special projects and performs other related duties as required.
Performs, guides, and directs department resources regarding efforts to establish supplier development, supply chain, and quality requirements in search of cost effective and customer needs.
Works closely with Planning for optimal service performance and product fulfillment.
Gathers, analyzes, and validates data to enable purchasing decisions which optimize inventory and lead time reduction initiatives.
Ensures that effective procurement controls are developed to maintain the integrity of the organization. Takes corrective action, as appropriate.
Reviews sourcing reports, and provides technical problem solving expertise and training.
Evaluates cost and quality of materials, equipment, products, or services.
Meets with vendor representatives to discuss market information, pricing, new products etc
Supports policies, standards, environmental, ethics, and quality programs.
Visits regional markets to stay abreast of product issues.
Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in the sourcing/supply chain field
Bachelor's Degree required
Master’s Degree is a plus
Experience in international sourcing/supply chain management
Computer skills and experience in ERP systems, SAP preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Extensive project management experience
Strong customer orientation
Ability to develop high performance teams and be a strong team player
Experience in sourcing/supply chain department development and successfully managing transition
Demonstrated skills using Lean and Six Sigma methodology
